Hi John,

Yes, we have also trusted the James gaskets, but as with everything one has
to be discriminating.  Some gaskets from some manufacturers are better than
others, but perhaps not all gaskets from any one manufacturer are better.
When comparing the James umbrella valves we had in stock with the Harley
ones, the latter were significantly more pliable, and the proof was that
they sealed right away on start-up. Another thought is that maybe we got an
old batch of James ones.  I guess the moral of the story is not to assume
anything no matter who the manufacturer, to check and test everything as
much as possible.
