In my research for taller handlebars, the most expensive part of the
"conversion" will be the brake lines for the dual disc brakes on my 2006 883R.

A few questions for you all:

-does the second brake actually help braking that much. almost all other HD's
(and metric cruisers) have only a single front brake.

-I know the master cylinder is different from single and dual models. I know
you can buy the whole master-cylinder + handle, but don't have a part number
handy. Anyone have that number? Approx. price?

-Can I use my current master cylinder? Will it be "too strong" for a
single setup?

-how much weight would this save? I know its probably negligible.

I'm just weighing my options. If dual discs aren't buying me anything, I may
"ditch" one of them. A single longer brake line costs allot less than doing
a 3
line plus tee setup for dual discs. Plus, I may be able to get a little
for the
setup for someone who wants dual.

I may wind up leaving it as is, but trying to plan out my motorcycle related
expenditures for the upcoming year. I exceeding 2006's budget infinitely... (I
didnt' have a bike until July 2006. I'm hoping that my 2008 budget will
be able
to include a 1200 conversion...

(For those who say I'm desecrating my 883R, that ship has sailed. Other than
the blacked-out engine and dual discs, there is not much "R" left to it. As my
only bike, it has to be more practical and comfortable.)

TIA,
Brian
