David says:

I have a 2003 1200 Custom. My bike backfires through the carb. It is
not constant but it seems to do it after running at a constant RPM for
awhile and then when I pull up to a stop light and rev it up it will
cough and backfire through the carb. I have done the following to
it. Are there any suggestions to prevent this from happening?

1. D&D slip-ons
2. K&N Air Filter
3. Rejected Carb. with 180 Main jet, 45 slow jet, and 1988 needle.

Matt replies:

David,

Perhaps Lee Bussy will chime in, but I'm not sure you need the 45 jet
and the N65C needle. One or the other but not both?

Regards,

Matt
