RE: Fork oil weightsFrom: "Sam Judson" <sjudson@neo.rr.com> Next Article (by Date): fork oil "Vincent Todd Brooks" Someone asked about fork oil weights...I have the following recommendations based on personal satisfaction with Progressive springs on the front of my 2001 xl standard: First choice - Valvoline Dexron III, Mercon III Transmission Fluid Second - Schaeffer All Trans Supreme Third - HD Performance Fork Oil Heavy (99881-87) The service manual specifies Type "E" hydralic oil...remember to correctly measure and add exactly 9 ounces to each wet fork. The heavier weight oil you use, the stiffer the ride. Best, Sportstersam 2001 xl883>>>1200 Mansfield, Oh Next Article (by Date): fork oil "Vincent Todd Brooks" |
