There are two problems when changing to a different set of bars, everyone seems to have a slightly different set of bars on their Sportster and depending on how much you rotate the bars back can change what you require for cables. I just changed to a different set up and the best suggestion that I have is to do a mock up with some 1 inch pvc pipe. Put the bends in with a torch and you will have a complete picture of what you need or don't need to change. This way you don't risk damaging the bars you purchase and can return them if they are not for you. If the dealer won't let you buy and return you can take a length of stiff wire and do a rough template at the dealers. Or you can do the reverse and design a set of bars and risers that fit you and compare what's available with your template. Just throwing my 2 cents in. Of course that's Canadian so it is more like 1.5 cents US. Kong Next Article (by Subject): Re: switching handlebars PURPLEHAZE0969@aol.com |
