Just purchased an 04 883 Custom. I have been riding for 25 years. This is my
first Harley. Been waiting for this one! The first 175 miles were fairly
uneventful, although I noticed that I had to choke the bike a little
longer than
the manual stated.. Today I rode 25 miles, stopped for my friend to gas up, and
when I restarted, I stalled out. For the remaining 75 miles any time I slowed
down or stopped, the bike would stall.... unless I pulled the choke out prior
to slowing down. Is all of this from the very lean state of tune these bikes
come with, only fixed by paying the Harley tax? I thought the tax was more a
matter of choice than a rquirement. Any advice would be helpful. I want to love
this bike, but it ain't returning my affection!
