re: Oil ConsumptionFrom: Mike <mjkramer@comcast.net> Next Article (by Subject): Panoptx great customer service Robert Sellers <Hey all, I just checked my oil and I seem to be losing some somewhere...and 1 found a service bulletin on how to reroute the oil line for my year bike. 3 hours later I leave the dealership and bring the bike home. Since then I haven't seen a drop of oil leaking anywhere.> Larry, we're talking about two different things here. 1) The hose that you had re-routed due to the service bulletin is the Transmission Vent Line. This was the culprit of your oil drip. Has nothing to do with your oil level. 2) Oil level. Be careful, because if your checking you oil after the bike has sat for a while, oil from the tank may have drained down into the case. There's a check-valve that often allows the oil to drain down. Be sure to check the oil right after it's been warmed (for both expansion, and to ensure oil is being pumped back into the oil tank). Don't wait. Maybe I'm wrong, but this has happened before. Good luck. Mike '00 1200C Nashville Next Article (by Subject): Panoptx great customer service Robert Sellers |
