I met up with Red and some of his buds at the NY International bike show
this weekend.  It was pretty cool, and I got my first chance to see the VRod
up close.  I admit it is an impressive undertaking for MoCo, but sorry, it
just doesn't make my blood move faster.  I confess, I spent most of my time
salivating over the Aprilias and Ducatis.

I stopped by the Gerbings stand and inquired about getting a battery hookup
cord.  The lady asked what clothing I had, and I told her I had recently
bought the whole get-up direct from the factory.  She seemed concerned and
asked if they had failed to include a pigtail.  I told her that was not the
problem but that I just needed another one for my other bike.  She handed me
one and said "no charge."  Nice folks!  I guess I got my admission price
back right there.

I rode quite a bit this weekend wearing the jacket and gloves in
temperatures in the 20s and 30s.  I was not the least bit uncomfortable.
They are the best MC gear investment I have made yet.  I have yet to really
need the pants and have only worn them a couple of times to try them out.
If you have good outerwear, I think that unless you are doing some serious
long haul riding or you live where it is really, really cold, the pants are
overkill.  We'll see if my tune changes as the temps drop.
