Diagnosing ProblemFrom: Robert Wren <txpakrat@yahoo.com> Next Article (by Subject): Re: Diagnosing Problem "- MarkB -" Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to ALL!!!! I have a buddy who has an '01 883 Custom (black, so it must be faster than mine <VGB>!). The bike has recently started running very rough (sluggish, missing a lot, puffing large amounts of smoke), even after it has warmed up. The throttle response is terrible. It only has about 350 miles on it, but it was bought back in May (my friend bought it about a two months ago from the original owner who has back problems). It was running fine until about a week or so ago. He is going to take it to the dealer since it is still under warranty, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what the problem might be. I have not done much work on bikes, but I have done quite a bit with truck/car engines. It seems to me that he has a problem with his rings or has blown a gasket. Thanks! Again HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
