I have a 1980 XLS that I am rebuilding. I have had the frame, tanks and
fenders painted and rebuilt the upper engine - new pistons, rings, valve
job,cylinders bored +40.

Before I took it all apart I video taped the bike from all angles for
about 10 minutes, and also took notes. Now I cannot find the tape, and
some of the small items that I have not written down I need help with,
and yes I do have a manual for the bike.

1) Where does the pressure switch for the rear brake mount? I also had
to take apart the rear brake lines to disassemble the bike, any hints
for filling it back up with fluid (BTW what kind?) and bleeding?

2) Where do all the cables mount? Clutch cable was never anchored any
where, just goes from grip to clutch cover, where should it be. How does
the throttle cable go from the grip to the carb.

3) Can anyone give me real detailed instructions on putting my push rods
back in? I know if I do it wrong I will mess up the engine real bad.
4) Hope to start it this weekend. Bike is completely dry of oil, (did
oil up the pistons before I put them in) what procedure should I follow
to fire it up for the first time? Once I do start it should I let it
idle for a while?

Thanks,
