Are you currently running middle or forward controls?

I can think of two ways to take on this issue - #1, my Corbin seat
DOES seat you a little farther back from the tank than the OEM. They
make a "close" version for the short legged individual. The problem
with making the center of the seat bucket a little longer is the
geometry of the frame in relation to the rear fender as it rises up
beyond the line of the frame backbone - if you didn't have to clear
the fender rise it'd be a no-brainer. If you don't mind actually
raising your seating height over the OEM spec sculpturing a seat form
from a piece of closed cell foam should be easy for an upholsterer,
but the resulting seating height change I think would throw off the
effective center of gravity to the plus side which may or may not
noticeably change your handling characteristics.

Alternative #2 would be forward control extenders - I think that's
been discussed in the list recently. I think this would be the better
approach as far as retaining the handling you're used to.
