RE: Oil discolored in one fork leg only - bad seal? From: Ken Durstine <kdurstine@gmail.com> Next Article (by Date): RE: Oregon Rides Ken Durstine Vladimir sez: I am installing Ricor Intiminators <http://tinyurl.com/yzwkk9f> into my front forks. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Interesting variation on race tech cartridge emulators. Be interesting to see which works better. Especially if the inertia valves work good with the stock springs. It will be interesting to see how fast the "inertia" function works on surfaces that "chatter" the front suspension, the inertia valves appear to work based on acceleration of the valve body, in a chatter situation, there may not be enough time for the inertia valves to kick in. Still, I bet they are substantial improvement over the stock forks or just progressive springs. I suspect that the fork seal is going bad and you are sucking moist air into the fork guts and that is why your fluid is discolored in leg. Only an exam will tell you if the dust seal or the bushing is also going bad. Seems like remember you have a fair amount of miles on your bike, replacing the bushings and dust seal could be considered preventative maintenance at this point, but on the other, just replacing the seal is easy enough if it turns out that you decide to replace the bushings etc at a later date.
