RE: rockslide in ColoradoFrom: Ken Durstine <kdurstine@gmail.com> Next Article (by Date): Tank swap n db (was a Little nippy) Rene Perea Bob sez: Noticed the article mentioned exposed wiring. Are the roads heated out there to keep them clear of snow, or is the wiring they mention really reinforcing cables? ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Never heard of that portion of I-70 being heated. But the highway is double decker so they needs lights etc. on the lower deck. There is a hydro plant that the highway was built over the top of lots of cables associated with that. And then Glenwood canyon is one of the big bottlenecks through the rockies, probably a lot of internet and communication cables there too. The canyon is narrow enough that the highway structure is probably the place to run all this stuff. It is a very pretty canyon, there was a big stink on just to widen the interstate through there without wrecking the scenery.
