Carb farts and gas mileageFrom: Anthony Martinez <anthonymartinez@yahoo.com> Next Article (by Date): RE: Carb farts and gas mileage Ken Durstine Greetings to all on the list; My bike has lost some gas mileage recently; up to 20 miles less per tank riding the same way as always. I cleaned the K&N filter but that did not help. The bike now if back fires when accelerating fast and "carb farts" very easily now even after being warmed up. Plugs: Took them out and they look good: dusty gray, no oil or soot buildup. 1996 883 XL, bit over 50,000 miles on her, Stage I upgrades many years back. I realize this is probably a carb issue and need to check connections etc. and that will be a first step but was hoping anyone with experience might have some suggestions or good approach to diagnose what is going on. I have the service manual and will start with it but my experience is a bit lacking here. Thanks ahead of time. Anthony Next Article (by Date): RE: Carb farts and gas mileage Ken Durstine |
