RE: Deals Gap in June? From: Mountains_View <mountains_view@yahoo.com> Next Article (by Date): Broken motor mount Matthew McCleary Dave, I got my first motorcycle ride on 421 The Snake last fall with Kevin and Lonzo when we rode over there and attended the Rally in the Valley at the Country Store, that was a great day of riding. Me and my g/f had previously been over there on a day trip in our '01 Grand Prix, she drove up and I drove back, we got into the curvey part and she was giving the car hell throwing us around, it was fun for the first hundred curves then I felt like I was gonna barf and told her to slow down just a bit, unless she'd like a second look at my lunch. One of the twistiest roads I've ever been on and we have a lot around here. But on a motorcycle it was a blast. So I can definately highly recommend The Snake, Lots and Lots of Curves, little traffic, beautiful scenery, LEO's don't hassle you as long as you're not showing your ass. I'm planning on getting my Deals Gap The Dragon ride patch/T-Shirt pretty soon too. I've heard that traffic is heavier on The Dragon and law enforcement is a bit more anal about speeding, mostly on the TN part, but if you don't speed it shouldn't be an issue. If I were coming that far to ride just The Dragon, I'd go for both, some of the best riding in the country within a day trip of each other. Don't forget to check out the Blue Ridge Parkway while your here, hopefully they'll have it back in order by the time you get out here, it's a mess right now. Ride Safe.
