Re: DIEHARD BATTERY FOR 2004 XL?From: "Matt Brown" <mbrown7@maine.rr.com> Next Article (by Subject): Re: DIEHARD BATTERY FOR 2004 XL? "Jeff Bly" The reason I ask is that I am a little anti-HD these days when it comes to the battery. My original 2004 battery went totally dead last year. I figured 5 years for the original battery wasn't too bad. I went to one of the nearby Harley Davidson dealerships, (I won't say which one for fear of lawsuit), and bought a new OEM battery. A little over a week and a few hundred miles later I found that battery to be completely dead. Upon further inspection I found that the battery had leaked out through a small crack in the corner. Niether the local dealership nor HD would stand behind the product. Nevermind that I had to clean all that electrolyte off all the stuff it leaked all over, but they said I must have dropped the battery before installation. I know damn well that didn't happen. I don't know that it wasn't dropped before I bought it though. That is why I'm wanting to buy something OTHER than an HD OEM. (I know. Isolated incident.)
