A few years ago I put a Barnett clutch set in my '88 XLH. Barnett recommended
using B&M Trick Shift fluid. Not sure if that is type F or Mercon but
it works fine.  I figured that they know clutches so I've been using it
since then. Before that I used Mobil 1 20W50 same as I run in the engine.
It worked well too.
