Re: Refrshing new topic, speedo. From: marksjohnson@optusnet.com.au marksjohnson@optusnet.com.au Next Article (by Author): Re: Fw: Vacuum petcock pacnwimages@comcast.net Gday Jim Before I replaced my speedo/tacho a few weeks ago (after I smashed them in the crash), the little clear end/tip of the needle had fallen off and to the bottom of the tacho clock-housing. It was clearly visible in there and it bounced around like crazy when the revs got up to about 2200rpm. I asked my local guy if we could get in there to fix it and he told me that it was a sealed unit and I just had to live with it - not that it was such a big problem for me anyways. He said that they got a batch of speedos/tachos a while back that had bugs inside them, sealed in at the factory - they had to be returned and replaced because they couldn't get in there to shake em out. One wonders how your spiders got in there in the first place - factory maybe? Maybe someone knows how to get in to the speedo to remove your little riding-buddies but it seems that while they can breed and cannibalise, they're gonna be in there until the food runs out. I wonder how long that will be...? It does seem crazy to me that the speedo can't be cracked open - I'm interested to know if it can be.
